WriteTalkType provides a secretarial and administrative
support service that is unique in New Zealand
Our team only employs professional support specialists who are skilled and experienced in their chosen fields.
This provides our clients with the peace of mind and assurance that they will receive an outstanding service from our team, regardless of the industry or business sector they come from.
Being early adopters of technology, our services are not limited by geographical barriers, in fact, many clients who regularly work with us are based internationally.
how we started
Our vision started in 2001, when the idea of outsourcing work and digital technology was still relatively new. With early beginnings in Wellington, we quickly built a reputation for providing high quality typing and transcription services, office management and administrative support and our business flourished into the unique secretarial outsourcing solution we are today.
Recognising that many individuals and businesses needed higher levels of efficient, flexible and reliable support, we created a service that would ensure exceptional benefits to our clients regardless of size, industry or location. Jo Stevens and Teresa Vincent have led the way in New Zealand in this elite industry and are proud of the culture they have created within the business and with our clients.
The WriteTalkType team are all highly skilled specialists with a passion for the work we do, and our recruitment process (including thorough background and criminal checks) ensures only the best of the best applicants become part of this special team.
Jo Stevens has always loved the business world. After finishing high school, Jo studied for a New Zealand Diploma in Business and then moved to Wellington to launch her career.
Jo quickly found her niche in the Wellington corporate world. Gaining as much experience and knowledge as she could, and after enhancing that with Government and private sector legal roles, Jo realised the best way to utilise her skills was to go into business herself which is when she founded Office Magic – our WriteTalkType predecessor.
Jo understands office management from entry to executive level. She has worked with clients from an endless multitude of different industries and backgrounds – sole traders, property assessors/inspectors, real estate agencies, entrepreneurs, business consultants, medical professionals, health and safety consultants, universities, research and tertiary institutions, retail, trades and more.
In the legal environment Jo has worked with small, medium and large law firms and sole practitioners throughout New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom. Her experience covers the public and private sectors and legal specialities including criminal, health, employment, commercial, litigation, conveyancing, family law, high-level government, human rights, treaty matters, public law, and finance and revenue.
Jo loves to share her skills and experience with clients and staff alike. She is highly motivated, has excellent technical skills and takes pride in providing the best possible client and business management support.
Teresa Vincent has been providing secretarial/personal administrative services for well over 30 years. Her legal background spans 17 years in New Zealand, Australia and the UK. It includes working as a PA in large law firms in the City of London in the litigation, intellectual property, and IT departments, in medium-sized New Zealand firms specialising in conveyancing and Treaty issues, and in Australia in commercial and tax issues.
Teresa’s legal positions range from a Judge’s Assistant at the Parramatta Family Court to a Judge’s Secretary in New Zealand. She understands government processes - her 13 years in the public sector include extensive periods in criminal justice psychology, transport and health. She is an expert handler of privacy issues, Official Information Act requests and Parliamentary Questions.
She understands private sector administration too, having worked in banking, insurance, construction, consultancies, media and hotels. She has been the PA to CEOs of companies including Sydney Ports Corporation, was an office manager of a small law firm in London and over the years has developed an in-depth knowledge regarding HR matters. She understands business writing and for many years has drafted papers on behalf of managers and/or organisations. This is a field that Teresa particularly enjoys and will happily assist clients in this area.
Minute taking is also one of Teresa’s strengths and, dependent upon location, is more than happy to assist clients on-site. She understands the importance of the written word and can assist clients in setting up Agendas, Minutes and the general co-ordination around management teams and administration of the same.
Teresa’s travels have seen her living in Australia, Italy and England. A staunch All Black supporter, she loves spending time with her extensive family, takes an avid interest in current affairs and is currently studying for a Certificate in Small Business Management through the Open Polytechnic.
Teresa’s personal strengths are her sense of humour, strong interpersonal and organisational skills, and an aptitude for liaising with a wide cross-section of people. She displays excellent written, verbal and communication skills and is adept at identifying a client’s needs.
