WriteTalkType provides a secretarial and administrative
support service that is unique in New Zealand
Our team only employs professional support specialists who are skilled and experienced in their chosen fields.
This provides our clients with the peace of mind and assurance that they will receive an outstanding service from our team, regardless of the industry or business sector they come from.
Being early adopters of technology, our services are not limited by geographical barriers, in fact, many clients who regularly work with us are based internationally.
how we started
Our vision started in 2001, when the idea of outsourcing work and digital technology was still relatively new. With early beginnings in Wellington, we quickly built a reputation for providing high quality typing and transcription services, office management and administrative support and our business flourished into the unique secretarial outsourcing solution we are today.
Recognising that many individuals and businesses needed higher levels of efficient, flexible and reliable support, we created a service that would ensure exceptional benefits to our clients regardless of size, industry or location. Jo Stevens and Teresa Vincent have led the way in New Zealand in this elite industry and are proud of the culture they have created within the business and with our clients.
The WriteTalkType team are all highly skilled specialists with a passion for the work we do, and our recruitment process (including thorough background and criminal checks) ensures only the best of the best applicants become part of this special team.
Jo Stevens has always loved the business world. After finishing high school, Jo studied for a New Zealand Diploma in Business and then moved to Wellington to launch her career.
Jo quickly found her niche in the Wellington corporate world. Gaining as much experience and knowledge as she could, and after enhancing that with Government and private sector legal roles, Jo realised the best way to utilise her skills was to go into business herself which is when she founded Office Magic – our WriteTalkType predecessor.
Jo understands office management from entry to executive level. She has worked with clients from an endless multitude of different industries and backgrounds – sole traders, property assessors/inspectors, real estate agencies, entrepreneurs, business consultants, medical professionals, health and safety consultants, universities, research and tertiary institutions, retail, trades and more.
In the legal environment Jo has worked with small, medium and large law firms and sole practitioners throughout New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom. Her experience covers the public and private sectors and legal specialities including criminal, health, employment, commercial, litigation, conveyancing, family law, high-level government, human rights, treaty matters, public law, and finance and revenue.
Jo loves to share her skills and experience with clients and staff alike. She is highly motivated, has excellent technical skills and takes pride in providing the best possible client and business management support.
My role with WriteTalkType is: Partner, client relationship manager, listener and doer!
During the weekends I like to: Follow rugby, spend time with family, maintain my fitness (I've been a gym-goer for 26 years), cook and find something new on Netflix to follow.
When I was younger I wanted to be: An investigative journalist.
Four people I would like to spend time on a desert island with: Jimmy Page (music); the Queen (history, politics and general knowledge); Bradley Walsh (English humour and a great conversationalist no doubt!); and Jamie Oliver (not only would he be a fantastic hunter and gatherer but he would also be able to turn the produce into something delicious too!).
Three countries that I would like to visit that I missed during my travel years: Canada, Mauritius and the Maldives.
Most memorable and enjoyable roles of my work history: Working for Judges (in New Zealand and Australia), Ashursts in London and working with my mentor, David Riley at the Department of Corrections and the amazing Lucy King, Principal Advisor, Department of Corrections.
My favourite place in New Zealand: Can't narrow it down to one, New Zealand has so many. Taupo, Pautua, Pourere and of course home.
